Abraham Lincoln never traveled beyond the shores of the United States, yet his core values had worldwide implications that extended into the global education. At the Gettysburg Address, Abraham Lincoln said, “that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” This Universal message should inspire today’s educational leaders. A nation is great not because of a few flagship schools or universities are thriving, but because of sharing their best ideas about education for the future generation.
Sharing with the same vision of Abraham Lincoln, it is not surprising to see many universities have been coined under the name of Lincoln beyond the United States, namely:
- University of Lincoln, UK
- Lincoln University, New Zealand
- Lincoln University, Nevis
- Lincoln University College, Malaysia
- Lincoln University, Canada
